'Pigling Bland and Piggy Wiggy'. A rare, original animation production 'cel' with an original hand painted background and overlay from 'Pigling Bland'. The Tale of Pigling Bland Beatrix Potter's classic story.
Beautifully painted and 'rendered' by hand. This cel was used in the 1994 Peter Rabbit (Beatrix Potter) animated TV mini series, 'Pigling Bland'. TVC London/BBC for Frederick Warne & Co. (1992-1997), BBC.
A British animated children's series adapted from fourteen of Beatrix Potter's classic books, which aired eight 24m episodes on BBC1 from 1992 - 96, with a ninth airing on BBC Two in 1998. The series was a co-production of TVC London w/the BBC, Pony Canyon Inc. and Fuki Television Network Inc. Dianne Jackson, who directed The Snowman (1982) for Channel 4, developed the series as writer and director, but died just a week after the first episode aired. In keeping w/her other work, the animation style is directly based on the illustrations from the original books.
